Jews were expelled from the famous watering resort Herweck-on-the-Rhine, according to a report appearing today in the Mannheim Hakenkreuzerbanner, a Nazi paper.
In the report the resort is referred to as a former “Jewish aquarium.”
The expulsion of the Jews followed a rough rowdy demonstration staged by Nazi gangs. As a result of the riot an “impudent Jew” was arrested, the paper reports.
Nazi children today marched back and forth in the streets of the resort, carrying large placards inscribed: “Jews are not wanted.”
In the Neukolln district of Berlin, too, youth dressed in the uniform of the Hitler youth organization staged a demonstration and pasted the windows of Jewish shops with old copies of Der Stuermer and with anti-Semitic handbills.
On the windows of many shops they printed in large characters: “Jews, Go to Palestine.”
They were unhampered by the police, for no officers of the law showed up. Attempts by some of the crowd to interfere with their hooliganic act were strongly resisted by the Nazi youth.
