A warning to the surviving Jews in Germany to modify their attitude so as not to create “dissatisfaction among the Bavarian people” has been voiced by the Bavarian Commissioner for Racial and Political Permeates, Dr. Philip Auerbach , in a letter to Jewish committee throughout Bavaria.
Appealing to Jewish displaced persons and surviving German Jews “to arhibit the dignity of the Jewish race in public” so as to avoid spreading anti-Semitism which, he said, was still strong among the German population, Dr. Auerbach asked the Jews to avoid ” clashes in public with Germans which cause a serious attitude toward the Jews among the population. ” He urged that the Jews refrain from exhibiting foods “which are usually unavailable to the German population ” so as not to “enrage” the Germans.
