A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Jewish National Fund, held here over the week-end, unanimously decided to leave vacant the post of President of the JNF until the year of mourning for its late president M.M. Ussishkin is over. Ussishkin’s study is to be left unchanged and will be called the “Ussishkin Room.”
The Board announced that a special campaign will be launched throughout the world to raise a $1,000,000 to redeem land in honor of Ussishkin. A special Ussishkin “Golden Book” and mourning stamps bearing his portrait are to be issued. On the thirtieth day after Ussishkin’s death delegates from all the settlements will assemble here to lay earth from all parts of Jewish-owned Palestine upon the JNF leader’s grave in Nikanor’s Cave on Mount Scopus.
