The American Jewish Congress today named John W. Gardner, chairman of the Urban Coalition, and David Aronow, New York industrialist and philanthropist, the 1968 recipients of its Stephen S. Wise Award. The Wise awards are presented annually to individuals, organizations and institutions “whose moral courage and love of liberty exemplify the tradition of Rabbi Wise and the teachings of the Jewish heritage.” The presentations will be made to Mr. Gardner and Mr. Aronow on Oct. 27.
