Leading countries plan to meet next week in Europe to discuss Iran. The five members of the U.N. Security Council with veto power — United States, France, Britain, Russia and China — as well as Germany, will finalize incentives to get Iran to cooperate with nuclear inspectors, U.S. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said. “The next steps here are that the ministers will meet,” he said Thursday. “I expect it will likely be in Europe and likely be at the end of next week.” The United States and Europe are trying to persuade Russia and China to threaten sanctions against Iran unless it cooperates. U.N. nuclear inspectors believe Iran is closing in on manufacturing a nuclear bomb, something it denies.
