The first step toward organization of a Duluth Jewish league for the purpose of solving problems of the Jews of the community in a unified manner will be taken on February 19th, when delegates from all Jewish groups of the city of Duluth will attend an organization meeting at the Hebrew Institute. The organization meeting is sponsored by the Covenant Lodge No. 569. Order of B’nai Brith. of which A. B. Horwitz is president. Three delegates from each group will attend the meeting and if found suitable will form the league at that meeting.
Invitations were sent to the following groups to attend: Sisters of Israel. Ninth Street Synagogue, Young Women’s Hebrew Association. Hebrew Ladies’ Society. Mizrachi Society. Workmen’s Circle, Sholom Aleichem Workmen’s Circle. Duluth Progressive Workmen’s Circle, Senior Council of Jewish Women. Senior Hadassah. Junior Hadassah. Temple Sisterhood. Talmud Torah Sisterhood. Temple Emanuel Men’s Club, Temple Emanuel. Jewish Community Club. Modera Woodman’s Jewish Chapter. Tifereth Israel Synagogue and Adas Israel Synagogue.
