Nothing can stop the Jews in Palestine from working to keep the doors open to immigration in order to help Europe’s Jews, Eliezer Kaplan, treasurer of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, declared today at a luncheon inaugurating the $1,700,000 New York campaign of the United Palestine Appeal.
Other speakers were Harold Jacobi, chairman of the New York drive, who presided and announced a list of business and communal leaders who will direct the campaign; Dr. Stephen S. Wise, national chairman of the U.P.A.; Samuel Blitz, executive director of the New York drive, and Morris Rothenberg, chairman of the Z.O.A. administrative committee.
