The Mandates Commission of the League of Nations, opening its thirtieth session today, decided to invite a representative of Great Britain to attend a discussion of the Mandatory’s administration of the Palestine mandate. It is believed the invitation will be rejected.
It had been reported earlier that the commission had dropped consideration of the Palestine question from the agenda following a declaration by Pierre Orts of Belgium, acting chairman, that Great Britain was not in a position to make a statement. The Mandatory has persisted in its refusal to report on the recent disorders, contending it must await completion of the forthcoming investigation by the British Royal Commission, scheduled to leave for the Holy Land on Nov. 5.
