James Marshall, son of the late Louis Marshall, was sworn in yesterday at City Hall by Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia as a member of the Board of Education. He succeeds Louis Posner, who recently was appointed by Governor Herbert H. Lehman to the New York State Mortgage Commission.
Marshall, an active Republican, is a member of the executive committee of the American Jewish Committee. Thirty-eight years old, he is a graduate of the Law School of Columbia University. He has been active in Jewish communal affairs and Zionism.
