Hundreds of people attended the memorial meeting here last night marking the 15th anniversary of the execution of prominent Jewish writers during the Stalin regime. Danton Jobin, chief editor of the pro-Soviet daily newspaper Ultima Hora, presided at the meeting, which strongly protested the continued suppression of Jewish culture and religion in the Soviet Union.
Other speakers included Dr. Yedidie Guertzenstein, president of the Rio de Janeiro Federation of Jewish Institutions, which organized the meeting and Federal Deputy Nobre, a Catholic priest. A resolution of protest adopted at the gathering was sent to the Soviet embassy here.
