A party of distinguished Israeli leaders, headed by President Ben Zvi, and members of the diplomatic corps today participated in a ceremony at which the first trees were planted in “Battalions Wood” at Avichail in memory of the Jews who died fighting in the Jewish Brigade, which was commanded by British General Allenby in World War I. A “Battalions House,” which will house the Israeli military academy, will also be built on the site.
