The Jewish Education Committee of New York, Inc., formed with a $1,000,000 endowment from the Friedsam Foundation, will absorb the Jewish Education Association next October, Justice Samuel I. Rosenman, chairman of the committee, announced last night at the association’s annual Chanukah Dinner in the Hotel Commodore, attended by 850 persons.
“By a program of research, experimentation and continued professional expert conferences and discussion,” Justice Rosenman said, “we are confident that we can raise the standard of religious instruction to a point where the American Jewish child will find it interesting and stimulating either to enter and remain in a religious school over a period of years or to obtain his religious instruction at home.
