Michael Levin, a founder of this city and one of the last survivors of the pioneer era of Jewish settlement in Palestine, was buried here today. He died yesterday at the age of 96. Mr. Levin came to Palestine in 1888, as a boy, from Motele, Russia, the birthplace of Israel’s first President, Dr. Chaim Weizmann. He worked as a farmer and citrus grower and became a prominent citizen of Rehovot. He was laid to rest in the burial place reserved for the city’s founding fathers. Mr. Levin was the father of Moshe Levin, European director of Israel’s Citrus Marketing Board.
