The British Military Court today sentenced a Jewish settler to nine months imprisonment on the charge of having in his possession a revolver with sixteen rounds of ammunition.

The convicted Jew, Eliahu-David Nacht, who is 32-years-old and is a member of the Jewish collective colony Gath, admitted possession of the weapon but pleaded that it was required for self-defence since his neighborhood was not safe for Jews. The sentence must be confirmed by higher military authorities.

A new Jewish settlement was established today on Hanana land, near Negba, six kilometers from the Telaviv-Gaza highway. A hundred “Haluzim” all of whom are refugees, will be settled there and ground will be allocated also-to thirty men who are still serving in the British armed forces and the Jewish Brigade.
