An “international organization” has agreed to send to Russia 50,000 packages of food and clothing for refugees, it was announced here today by Eliahu Dobkin, head of the Immigration Department of the Jewish Agency. The name of the organization was not given, but Mr. Dobkin emphasized that the articles which these packages will contain will be worth one million dollars. The weight of each package will be five kilograms.
Mr. Dobkin also announced that the Jewish Agency will probably be able to send 5,000 packages of clothing from Palestine to Jewish refugees from Poland now in Russia, in addition to 15,000 such packages which will be sent during 1944 from India. He pointed out that the Palestine Rescue Fund has been spending huge sums for such aid.
