Information reaching here from Poland today indicates that more Jews than were previously thought may have escaped extermination, although there is no doubt that the vast majority of Polish Jewry were exterminated.
In towns where the governmental machinery has resumed functioning, more and more people are appearing, seemingly from nowhere, and announcing that they are Jews from such-and-such a place. Additional information concerning survivors is expected to arrive from Poland within a few days.
