Most Israelis support the “road map” peace plan but question whether it will lead to a lasting peace accord. Of the 500 people surveyed in an opinion poll published Monday, 56 percent favor the plan, but only 51 percent believe it will achieve a lasting peace. Sixty-two percent of those surveyed believed Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon consented to the plan under pressure from the United States.
