Hasty departure by the Grand Mufti of Palestine, Haj Amin el Husseini, to Amman to consult with Emir Abdullah of Transjordania was linked here today, according to the Havas News Agency, with rumors that the British Government had definitely decided to partition Palestine between the Jews and the Arabs.
The Grand Mufti heads an Arab faction opposed to partition. Arab groups favoring this step and the establishment of an Arab kingdom under Emir Abdullah recently visited Amann and proclaimed the Emir as leader of the Arabs.
