National Jewish Education Month, aimed at stimulating interest among parents in Jewish learning, is being observed from Sept. 17 to Oct. 15 under the sponsorship of the National Council for Jewish Education and other organizations.
The month will be marked by a Jewish Education Week beginning Oct. 8, a period during which “the message of Jewish education should reach the heart and mind of every Jewish parent,” according to a proclamation issued by the Council, together with the Jewish Education Association of New York, the metropolitan section of the Jewish Welfare Board, Ivriah, the Histadruth Ivrith, the Agudath Hamorim and the Association of Principals of Hebrew Schools.
Mark Eisner, formerly chairman of the New York Board of Higher Education and vice-president of the New York Jewish Education Association, heads the newly organized American Association for Jewish Education.
