The Belgian Government-in-Exile today reported that another group of several hundred Belgian Jews was deported this week by the Nazis from Belgium to an unknown destination in occupied eastern territory.
The deportees included women from sixteen to fifty years of age, the report states. The victims were put in cattle trains at the railway station in Liege and none of their friends were permitted to see them off.
Underground information reaching the Belgian Government states that the Jews are being deported from Belgium to two destinations. Certain groups are being sent to work in the coal mires in Silesia, while others are transported to the Nazi-occupied Ukraine for hard labor there. The deportation of Jews from Belgium continues unabated with transports leaving every week from Antwerp and Liege, the information reveals.
