Armand D’Angelo, Commissioner of Water Supply, Gas and Electricity, was honored today at a luncheon at the Hotel Biltmore prior to his departure on Friday for Israel where he will consult with Israeli experts on water supply and electricity problems.
Mr. D’Angelo told the assembled guests: “I am proud of the opportunity that is being given me as the Commissioner of the Department of Water Supply, Gas and Electricity to share with the Israeli experts this city’s experiences in regard to both water supply and electricity.
“The great democratic government of Israel has urgent need to develop its water resources to the fullest extent, not only in order to expand its economy, but for its very existence,” the Commissioner added. “I have watched with keen interest the growth and economic development of this new nation and it is a great source of pride to me that I may be able to be of assistance to the dedicated people of Israel.”
The luncheon for Commissioner D’Angelo was arranged by Israel Bond Organization. The Commissioner will, during his stay in Israel, attend the first international conference for economic mobilization to be held in Jerusalem under the auspices of the State of Israel Bond drive.
