Denying knowledge of any foreign aid to Palestine terrorist bands, Colonial Secretary William Ormsby-Gore said in the House of Commons today that “there are certain infiltrations from other parts of the Moslem world” and widespread funds collections throughout the Moslem world for the Palestine Arabs.

Asked about the statement of former Foreign Secretary Anthony Eden that Italy was subsidizing the Palestine outbreaks, the Colonial Secretary replied: “These questions of subsidy relate only to providing propaganda, not to subsidizing of people to commit violent acts against authority.”

Describing the present situation in the Holy Land, he said that “every effort is being made by the military and police, but armed bands are most active throughout Palestine and the number of outrages is very large.”
