Israel today is passing through an agrarian revolution and “in the next decade we shall pin to the soil at least a third of the population,” Levi Eshkol, head of the Jewish Agency’s agricultural department, declared today. He said that 150 agricultural settlements would be founded in the current Jewish year, at a cost of 28 million pounds ($78,400,000). Of this sum, the government would contribute 6,000,000 pounds, he said, and the Jewish Agency and the Jewish National Fund would provide the rest.
Daniel Frisch, president of the Zionist Organization of American, and Fred Monosson, Boston Zionist leader, landed at Lydda airport this morning. They were greeted by General Zionist leaders in Israel.
