Mrs. Israel Sieff, chairman of the Women’s International Zionist Organization, last night urged the British Government to consent to formation of a Jewish army.
Addressing a Zionist meeting, Mrs. Sieff said this army would initially comprise the battalions in Palestine but would not necessarily be restricted to these forces. She stressed the value of having an army of 50,000 Jews in Palestine who know the terrain and how to fight there, especially in view of the possibility that Palestine would become a focal war theater.
