The split in the Palestine Labor Party culminated today in the announcement by the “Movement for Labor Unity,” a dissident section of the Labor Party, that it was merging with the Left Poals Zion. The decision to merge was taken at a two-day conference of the “Movement for Labor Unity.”
The Jewish National Council yesterday announced that six representatives of the Sephardic community are to be given seats in the Council and two will be placed on the executive committee. The Sephardic community was not represented in the Council because it boycotted last year’s election to the Assefath Hanivcharim, which elects the Council; they were part of a united opposition front with the Revisionists, the Farmers Association and the General Zionists B. which has now been broken.
