Joseph and Therese Seel, Paris concierges who betrayed Jews to the Gestapo during the German occupation and plundered their apartments after they were arrested, were found guilty of collaboration yesterday by a Paris court. The husband was sentenced to life imprisonment, while the wife received a five-year term.
Meanwhile, in Lyons, Lucien Bourdon, who surrendered 33 Jewish children to the Germans, was acquitted, suffering only deprivation of civil rights for life. The court explained its leniency by stating that no proof of the defendant’s guilt had been produced. The Lyons press attacked the mildness of the sentence.
