Important relaxation of Passover food restrictions was conceded today by the London Beth Din (rabbinical tribunal) in view of the war emergency.

For the first time, orthodox Jews in London will be allowed to use, during Passover, canned salmon, sardines, anchovies, herrings, and tomato sauce, but not tomato pure and uncanned pease. They will also be allowed to use canned fruit, except raspberries.
