An anticipated conference today between Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, and Dr. Mario Amadeo, Argentina’s permanent representative here, did not materialize because of a conflict in the schedules of the two diplomats.
Mrs. Meir and Dr. Amadeo were to have discussed the Argentine complaint against Israel in connection with the capture in Argentina of Nazi killer Adolf Eichmann. The Israel mission here had arranged for the conference when it was expected that the Argentine diplomat would return from Buenos Aires early last night. Dr. Amadeo, however, did not come back to New York until this morning. Meanwhile, Mrs. Meir who was in Pittsburgh last night, had gone to Philadelphia to keep a previous appointment.
Mrs. Meir will be here tomorrow, when Israel’s permanent UN representative, Michael S. Comay, will hold the first of two luncheons scheduled some weeks ago for diplomats accredited to the United Nations. Tomorrow’s luncheon had been scheduled for diplomats other than those representing Latin American member-states. The Latin American representative here, including Dr. Amadeo, had been invited to the second of this series of luncheons, to be held June 24.
