Martin Rathsprecher, president of the pro-Communist “Jewish Unity” organization here, has resigned because of the anti-Jewish drive in Eastern Europe and has been replaced by Franz Austerlitz it was reported here today.
Meanwhile, a group which apparently split off from “Jewish Unity” has issued an appeal to those who remain in the organization not to vote for the Communist slate in the Austrian national elections, stating that the danger to Jews is greater today than at any time since the Hitler regime. It has also been reported that some prominent Jewish Communists have renounced their ties with Judaism.
