Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt will be honored this afternoon at a tea and reception in the Hotel Commodore as a personal tribute to her and in recognition of the accomplishments of women. This event in which three thousand women, affiliated with the leading Jewish women’s organizations in New York will participate, is Mrs. Roosevelt’s first public appearance before any Jewish group since her husband’s election to the Presidency.
Mrs. Roosevelt will be guest of honor at a private luncheon preceding the tea and reception in the home of Mrs. Stephen S. Wise, president of the Women’s Association of the American Jewish Congress. Guests at the luncheon will include Mrs. Fiorello La-Guardia, Mrs. Bernard S. Deutsch, Miss Nancy Drier, Miss Nancy Cook and Mrs. Charles Noyes.
In addition to Mrs. Roovevelt. Aldermanic President Bernard S. Deutsch, presidetn of the American Jewish Congress, Mrs. Carrie Chapman Catt and Dr. John Haynes Holmes will speak. Mrs. Stephen S. Wise will preside.
