Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, who was feted by 3000 of his followers Sunday on the occasion of his 70th birthday, received Tuesday a personal emissary from President Nixon at his headquarters in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn. Greetings from the White House were conveyed by the author Herman Wouk, whose grandfather was a Hasidic rabbi. Rabbi Schneerson was also visited by Ambassador Yitzhak Rabin, who brought him birthday greetings from the Israel government. In addition, the Hasidic leader received emissaries from various states and municipalities all over the US and received keys to the city from London and from the Mayor of Milan, Italy.
