Report Improved Intergroup Understanding in New York City

There has been “continued steady impr### intergroup understanding between the citizens of New York City,” the May### mittee on Unity said today in its report of activities for 1952-53.

The document, submitted by Arthur W. Wallander, chairman of the com### reported the details of an investigation it had undertaken on the complaint ### groups that certain resort owners discriminated against Jews by advertisies their resorts were located “near churches.” The committee stated that ### investigation coincided with a similar one by the State Commission Against ### mination, the municipal group had consulted with it. After the consultation ### municipal group concurred in the state commission’s ruling that the advertise did not constitute discrimination.
