A Rome court this week postponed the scheduled trial of eight members of the Irgun Zvai Leumi, Jewish underground group in the days of the British Mandate over Palestine, who are charged with bombing the British Embassy in Rome five years ago.
The court’s action was taken because the eight, who are still at large, have presumably left the country. The bombing occurred in November, 1946, when a large landmine buried next to the Embassy exploded.
