Condemnation of the anti-Semitic agitation carried on by Professor Cuza for many years, leading to anti-Jewish disturbances and culminating in the latest outbreak of the Fascisti murder of the Roumanian Chief of Police of Jassy, was embodied in a resolution adopted today at a meeting of the professors of the University of Jassy.
The professors’ meeting was called for the purpose of considering the situation created in Roumania owing to the anti-Semitic agitation carried on by the Fascisti students organization which was responsible for the murder. Professor Cuza, the leader of this movement, was present and was asked to explain his relations with the anti-Semitic student bodies.
The resolution adopted by the professors states that “the murder of Jassy which stains the name of the Roumanian people is the result of Professor Cuza’s agitation who, instead of implanting National feeling in Roumanian youth, cultivated hatred and violence among them.” The resolution also expresses regret that Professor Cuza shows no penitence for this crime.
The text of the resolution was telegraphed to the Minister of Education.
