While Soviet Jewry is unaware of tomorrow’s anti-Soviet protests in the United States, Soviet circles are nevertheless well-informed of every step of the American Jewish Congress and other protesting groups.

Factory workers, and soldiers in the red army, are busy adopting resolutions against the religious crusade and proclaiming street demonstrations for March 19 against “the wild anti-Soviet war preparations of the Pope and the American rabbis.”

The government itself while growing milder in its attitude toward religions, and issuing its instructions not to force people to fight religion, is nevertheless doing nothing to hamper the League of the Godless in its anti-Passover campaign which will be stronger than ever this year.

The League openly declared that the connection of the foreign rabbis with the anti-Soviet campaign during the Passover month should be utilized for a stricter fight against religious sentiment among Russian Jews and for severe aggression against religious institutions in Russia. “Rabbis, just like Christian priests, will utilize Passover to strengthen religious agitation against the Soviet and therefore we should concentrate ourselves during the Jewish Passover and the Christian Easter for a more effective anti-religious campaign,” says the League’s declaration.
