According to the Polish Telegraphic Agency (PAT), attacks upon Jews in Germany are becoming more numerous since Hitler’s coming into power. The report states that Jews in Poland have been receiving numerous letters from their co-religionists in Germany reporting many cases of Jews beaten in the streets, and display windows in stores broken, while police limit their activities to registering cases but not proceeding against assaulters. Letters further state that Jews in Germany are so panic-stricken that they are afraid even to report attacks on themselves to the authorities.
Jews residing in Germany are pleading with Polish consular authorities not to report attacks to local authorities. They are afraid to report them even to their own organizations, Ost Juden Verband.
