The dispute between the Sephardic community of Vienna and the Roumanian Academy of Science over the legacy of the late Jewish millionaire philanthropist, Elias. was settled out of court.
The Academy agreed to pay to the Vienna community the amount of 60,000 schilling outside of the costs of the trial.
Elias had left a large sum with the Academy as trustee for a foundation, the proceeds of which were to go to the Sephardic community. The will was filed before the war, but due to the deflation of the currency, the sums which the Academy was willing to pay, on the currency specified in the will, was negligible.
