It appears that Sir John Simpson’s inquiry into problems of land settlement, immigration and development is mostly concerned with the future for everywhere he is inviting the Arab and Jewish representatives to remember that Palestine’s population has doubled in 30 years Some of Sir John’s question seemingly embarrass the effendis. Assuming that poverty has forced the fellaheen to sell their lands why do the large land owners sell, he asked them.

Dr. Arthur Ruppin, noted Jewish colonization expert, in a three hour interview with Sir John, prepared a list of Jewish authorities for the investigator’s consultation. Harry Viteles, manager of the Central Cooperative Bank also conferred with Sir John.
