A lifetime peerage has been conferred upon the Rt. Hon. Sir Lionel Leonard Cohen, Lord of Appeal in Ordinary, it was announced today at Buckingham Palace.
Conferment of the honor followed the jurist’s elevation to the highest bench, occupancy of which also involves a seat in the House of Lords. The announcement said that the dignity of a baron for life had been conferred upon him and that he would be known by the style and title of Baron Cohen of Walmer in the County of Kent.
