Some 300,000 members of Israel’s Likud Party voted Monday to elect delegates to their party convention and local party branches. The vote was the first grass-roots battle between supporters of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his anticipated challenger, former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, since those elected to the convention will in turn elect the Likud roster for Knesset.
