A special conference of the Jewish communities in Hungary has been convoked here for the purpose of dealing with the difficulties which have arisen between the Budapest Jewish community and the Federation of Jewish communities in Hungary.

The situation has become so critical, it is feared, that unless the conference succeeds in effecting a reconciliation the Federation will break up.

Lazare Saminsky will sail on Saturday on the Majestic to conduct choral and orchestral concerts in Paris and Vienna and to lecture on Jewish music before the Institute of Hebrew Studies in Rome.

This is the fifth consecutive season of Mr. Saminsky’s concerts devoted mainly to modern secular and religious music. Mr. Saminsky is director of music at Temple Emanu-El, New York City and is also one of the directors of the League of Composers.
