The municipality of Tel Aviv today announced the abolition of doles for unemployed following the approval of an appropriation of 18,000, approximately $72,000, for public works.
It is expected that the new public works program will provide employment for all able-bodied unemployed residents of the city for a period of three months. The work was apportioned according to the formula by which each party receives a certain share. The largest portion, 571/2 percent, was assigned to the Histadruth.
