The Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith has been granted a permanent injunction against the use of the phrase “Anti-Defamation League” by the so-called “Arab Anti-Defamation League.” State Supreme Court Justice George C. Mantzoros, who issued the injunction, also ruled Friday that the Arab group may not refer to itself as the “formerly Arab Anti-Defamation League,” or the abbreviation, ADL, “or any imitation thereof such as AADL.” The ADL took the matter to court after the Arab group, whose executive director is Mohammed T. Mehdi, adopted as its symbol “AADL” when it was established last Jan.
