The chief of staff of the Israel Defense Force ordered military police to investigate the shooting of a Palestinian in Hebron earlier this month by Israeli troops who tried to prevent a television crew from filming the incident. Lt. Gen. Shaul Mofaz said the soldiers opened fire in violation of standing orders and should not have prevented the free movement of the media.
