The Israeli navy sank a Palestinian boat off the Gaza Strip. A 22-year-old man, described by the Palestinian Authority as a fisherman, was killed in Saturday’s incident. Israeli military sources said he had entered prohibited waters, ignored warning shots and fired at naval vessels. There were no Israeli casualties. Last Friday, Israeli troops killed a Palestinian who tried to climb the Gaza Strip border fence and cross into Israel. Another two would-be infiltrators were wounded. Palestinian sources said the group planned to seek work in Israel.
