The leader of the Reform movement will address a large convention of Muslims in Chicago. Rabbi Eric Yoffie, president of the Union for Reform Judaism, will address Friday’s opening session of the Islamic Society of North America convention, according to a statement from the union. The Islamic Society is a Muslim group that boasts of working to develop social and educational programming and conducting interfaith work across the continent. Some Jewish observers have slammed the organization.
Yoffie is slated to discuss what the union describes as the unfair stereotyping of Muslims and ways the Muslim and Jewish communities can help one another.
