The man who has admitted to stabbing a yeshiva student during the 1991 Crown Heights riots wasn’t drunk, police said. Officers testifying at the civil retrial of Lemrick Nelson Jr. said he was sober when they arrested him. Nelson says he was drunk when he stabbed Yankel Rosenbaum, and wasn’t motivated by anti-Semitism.
