The establishment of a unified neo-Nazi party, which is to contest the forthcoming Bundestag elections under the name “National Ingathering,” was decided upon at a meeting held here by 620 delegates of 30 neo-Nazi splinter groups.
Speakers at the meeting denounced President Roosevelt and the Nuremberg trials of the Nazi war criminals. The meeting sent a message of greetings to former Admiral Karl Doenitz, who is now serving a prison sentence as a war criminal. The new party is to be under the joint leadership of Bavarian Landtag deputy August Hauss-leiter, head of the “German Community,” and of Karl Meissner, creator of the “German Block.”
One of the principal speakers was Edward A. Fleckenstein, who said he is an American citizen from Weehawken, N. J., and represents the Voters Alliance of Americans of German Descent of which, he stated, he is the president. He told the audience that Senators Joseph McCarthy and Pat McCarran are Germany’s best friends in the United States and ridiculed the democratic system of government as “mediocrity.”
