The first Distinguished Conduct Medal to be granted under the new ruling extending the decoration, which was formerly confined to the army, to all the armed services has been awarded to a Jewish flyer, Flight Sergeant David Nabarro, 21, of London, it was announced today. Sergeant Nabarro received the decoration for “distinguished and gallant services.”
Two other Jewish sergeants attached to the Royal Air Force, Ralph Lewis and Harry Kay, have also been decorated for “meritorious service.”
