Jewish circles voiced indignation today over a paragraph in the current issue of Time, weekly news magazine, which reports that “Jewish real estate speculators” have cornered leases on homes neighboring 16 Cumberland Terrace, London, newly rented by King Edward’s American friend, Mrs. Wallis Simpson.
The speculators, the magazine reports, have “already begun to clean up” and were “getting nearly twice the rent previously paid for nearby houses as London swanksters last week tried to establish themselves as near as possible to the favorite.”
